12/09/2024 - Due to the ongoing strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, many Canadian offices are looking for alternative options for claim and predetermination attachments. Open Dental supports electronic attachments for eligible carriers. See Canada Attachments for details.

10/25/2024 - Update 10/31/2024 - If updating Open Dental to version 24.2.45 or greater, this issue is resolved.
Middle Tier Update Alert - If you are updating Open Dental from an older version to 24.2.42 and above and get an error when attempting to log in via Middle Tier, the workstation has a version mismatch between the Middle Tier and Open Dental. Reinstalling Open Dental on the affected workstations will fix this issue. The Setup.exe for the correct version can be found in the OpenDentImages folder.

10/11/2024 - DoseSpot, one of Open Dental's integrated eRx providers, made a recent change affecting the drug database. Due to this change, DoseSpot users must update their Open Dental version to 24.1.81 or 24.2.41 or greater by October 30th, 2024. If you do not update by October 30th, when attempting to launch DoseSpot in Open Dental, you will receive the error 'This clinic is configured for API v2 and you are attempting to access a v1 endpoint. Please modify your request so that it is accessing a v2 endpoint.' You may still update Open Dental after October 30th, and DoseSpot will start working again.

09/23/2024 - This issue is resolved as of 09/30/2024 7:00 AM Pacfic Time.
Some Integrated Texting users may be experiencing issues when sending messages that contain URLs or email addresses. This is due to an unprecedented service interruption with one of our telecom suppliers. Open Dental works with multiple telecom providers, and only one is affected at this time. Open Dental is aware of the issue and working with the supplier on a resolution.
Update 09/26/2024 - We are working to transition affected Integrated Texting users to a new phone number which will support URLs. Affected users may notice a temporary change to their phone number while the telecom supplier continues to work on a permanent resolution.

07/30/2024 - Customers utilizing T-Mobile as their internet service provider (ISP) may experience issues accessing Web Forms, Open Dental updates, and the Query Examples webpage.

07/17/2024 - We will performing scheduled server maintenance today, July 17th, starting at 6 PM Pacific Time. The Open Dental website may be temporarily unavailable at this time.

04/26/2024 - As of 10:00 AM Pacific Time - DentalXChange users may be experiencing issues sending electronic statements. DentalXChange is aware of the issue and working on a resolution. Issue resolved as of 4/29/2024 1:00 PM Pacific Time.

04/04/2024 - We will be conducting routine server maintenance today, April 4th, starting at 7 PM Pacific Time. Some services may be unavailable during this time.

02/22/2024 - Change Healthcare has been hit by a cyberattack and has been down for the past two days. This is affecting all of their services. There is no ETA on when Change Healthcare is expected to be fully functional again. To switch to a different clearinghouse, see our Clearinghouse List.

02/22/2024 - The Change Healthcare cyberattack is also affecting many pharmacies across the US. Electronic prescriptions may not go through or may error out. Providers may need to try sending prescriptions to another pharmacy.

02/23/2024 - EDS is currently experiencing connectivity issues with claims, attachments, eligibility requests, and ERA delivery. Users may receive an error when attempting to use these services. There is no ETA on when these issues will be resolved.

02/21/2024 - We will be conducting server maintenance this Thursday, February 22nd, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Some services may be unavailable during this time.

12/1/2023 - The 2024 CDT Codes and the 2024 ADA Claim Form are available in versions 23.2.27 and greater. See Procedure Code Tools for details.

01/19/2023 - We will be performing server maintenance today, January 19, starting at 8:00 PM Pacific Time. The Open Dental Forum will be unavailable during this time.

01/15/2024 - Due to inclement weather affecting our area, you may experience longer than normal wait times when contacting Open Dental Support on January 15, 16, 17, and 18.

10/06/2023 - Effective Tuesday, October 10th, 2023, DoseSpot will require two factor authentication for all users who access the DoseSpot Admin Console. For details, see the DoseSpot Notice.

10/13/2023 - As of 6:00 AM Pacific Time - Software updates are currently unavailable. Open Dental is aware of the issue and working on a resolution. Please try again later. This issue has been resolved as of 4:30 PM Pacific Time. Softwares updates are now available

10/11/2023 - We will be conducting server maintenance today, October 11th, at 5:30 PM. Some services may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance.

10/09/2023 - We will be performing server maintenance Monday, October 9, 2023 between 7 PM and 8 PM Pacific Time. Software updates and DoseSpot eRx Registration will be unavailable during this time.

09/22/2023 - We have received multiple reports that agents and representatives of NexHealth, a third-party company, have been contacting Open Dental customers using aggressive and deceptive sales techniques. NexHealth is not partnered with Open Dental.

09/18/2023 - eClipboard is no longer supported on Windows tablet devices. Please see Tablet Devices for compatible options.

08/31/2023 - Integrated Texting customers who have not successfully completed Carrier Registration will no longer be able to send text messages. This is being done to prevent charges for undeliverable messages. To continue sending text messages complete Registration with Carriers.

08/18/2023 - We will be conducting server maintenance, today, August 18th, from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM Pacific Time. The Secure Email service will be unavailable during this time.

08/15/2023 - We will be conducting server maintenance, today, August 15th, from 5 PM to 6 PM Pacific Time. The Open Dental Forum and Support Web Chat will be unavailable during this time.

08/14/2023 - The Open Dental API will be unavailable for maintenance, tonight, August 14th, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Pacific Time.

07/20/2023 - If you are an Integrated Texting user and you have noticed your text messages are not being delivered, it is likely because your practice has not registered its texting Brand or the registration process was incomplete. Due to regulations put in place by mobile carriers, all practices must register their texting Brand. If you are experiencing this issue, please contact Open Dental Support for assistance.

06/30/2023 There was an issue with our Secure Email system where sent messages were delayed and responses were not making it back to the office. This issue is now resolved.

05/15/2023 - CareCredit will be performing planned maintenance on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. There is an expected outage from 12:00 AM EST to 5:30 AM EST.

05/12/2023 - On 06/01/2023 the fee for outgoing SMS (text) messages is increasing from $0.04 to $0.05 for U.S. Integrated Texting Customers. Customers who have registered their texting Brand will receive a new $0.01 per message discount, so the majority of customers will not see their price change at all. The registration process is free and usually only takes a few minutes to complete. Open Dental is faced with steep price increases from mobile carriers intent on putting barriers in place for texting outside of officially registered texting Brands.

05/01/2023 - As of 11:30 AM Pacific Time - Integrated Texting users may experience issues sending text messages. Some text messages sent to Verizon Wireless numbers are failing due to carrier-specific network settings. Open Dental is aware of the issue and working with carriers on a resolution.

05/01/2023 - Open Dental will be conducting server maintenance today from approximately 2 PM - 5 PM Pacific Time. Some services may be unavailable at this time.

04/06/2023 - Issue resolved as of 10:35 AM Pacific Time. As of 7:05 AM Pacific Time - NewCrop eRX users may currently be experiencing issues sending controlled substances. NewCrop is aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Please try sending prescriptions again later.

03/02/2023 - 09:30 AM Pacific Time - This issue has been resolved and DentalXChange services can continue as normal. 5:00 AM Pacific Time - DentalXChange users may receive an "Index out of range" error when attempting to send e-claims. Users can still create claims, but will need to try again later if receiving the error when sending. DentalXChange is aware of the issue and working to resolve it.

03/01/2023 - Update as of 2:20 PM Pacific Time - Providers who are able to access DoseSpot may also experience issues sending prescriptions for controlled substances. As of 12:30 PM Pacific Time - DoseSpot users may be experiencing some slowness when accessing eRx. DoseSpot is aware of the issues and working to resolve them.

02/28/2023 - We are open today, but there may be delays due to local weather conditions in Salem, Oregon. Emergencies will be given priority.

02/28/2023 - Issue resolved as of 12:55 PM Pacific Time. 8:45 AM Pacific Time - NewCrop users may experience issues opening eRx if using new diagnoses. NewCrop is aware of the issue and working to resolve it.

02/27/2023 - DentalXchange has been experiencing issues with claim attachments since 02/17/2023, resulting in "Operation Failed" errors. Open Dental was notified on 02/27/2023 that DentalXchange has reverted the changes causing these errors. Existing claims that need additional attachments may or may not work. If users get the "Operation Failed" message, they should delete and recreate the claim. No further fixes are coming from DentalXchange.

02/23/2023 - We are open today, but there may be delays due to local weather conditions in Salem, Oregon. Emergencies will be given priority.
