Conversions: Overlapping Appointments

After a final Conversion, you need to clean up appointments if your previous software allowed overlapping or unassigned appointments. Open Dental does not allow overlapping. During the final conversion, any appointments that overlap are pushed into an Unassigned or Extra operatory. These appointments must be moved into the correct operatory.

  1. In the Main Menu, click Reports, then User Query.
  2. Click Favorites. See Query Favorites.
  3. Single click on the query Future Appts by Operatory, then click OK.
  4. Click Submit Query to view the results.
  5. (Optional) Click Print to send the results to your default printer.
  6. For each appointment identified, go to the Appointments module, then move the appointment to the correct operatory.

When all appointments in the Unassigned and Extra operatories have been moved, you can remove the operatory from the appointment schedule by hiding it.

  1. In the main menu, click Setup, Appointments, Operatories. See Operatory Setup.
  2. Double click the operatory.
  3. Check the Is Hidden box
  4. Click OK.
