Dental Schools
Open Dental has a Dental Schools feature that makes it great for use in dental and dental hygiene schools.

The Dental Schools feature can be used to create and manage classes, courses, grading scales, evaluations, and more.
In the Main Menu, click Lists, Dental School Classes.

Dental School Classes refer to the group of students (e.g., Hygiene Class of 2026). Easily add classes that can be assigned to Dental School Providers (i.e., students).
In the Main Menu, click Lists, Dental School Courses.

Individual courses can be created and managed. These are used with Dental Student Evaluations.
In the Main Menu, click Setup, Dental Schools.

Easily define the User Group students or instructors are assigned to determine available security permissions.
Also access setup for Grading Scales and Evaluations.
In the Main Menu, click Setup, Requirements Needed.

Requirements can be added and copied to class/course combinations, attached to appointments, then managed by students and instructors.
In the Main Menu, click Lists, Providers.

Easily mark providers as instructors, so they can fill out Dental Student Evaluations, and assign students to a Dental School Class.
Dental School Evaluations can be used by instructors to grade students in a course.
Prior to creating evaluations, Grading Scales can be set up to determine how an evaluation is assessed. Options include percentage (i.e., 0-100%), weighted (e.g., points), and pick list (e.g., A-F).
In Dental School Setup, click Evaluations.

Evaluations can be assigned a specific grading scale, course, and multiple criteria.
In the Main Menu, click Tools, Evaluations.

Instructors can create evaluations attached to a specific student and grade the evaluation criteria.
Use the Evaluation Report to generate a list of student evaluation grades by dental course.
