Data corruption can happen to anyone and for a variety of reasons. If you have a corrupt database, follow these steps:

  1. Backup your data BEFORE you do any other steps (including database maintenance). Anytime you repair a corrupted table, there is a chance data will be wiped out. Having a backup may prevent additional data loss. See Backups.
  2. Contact Open Dental and let us know the corruption error message. We will try and repair the table(s) manually.
  3. If you can't contact Open Dental, or do not want to, you can try running Database Maintenance, Optimize tool.
  4. If corruption still exists, contact Open Dental.
