Open Dental works well in dental schools or dental hygiene schools.

Setup

Dental Schools must be set up in the following order:

1. Enable Dental Schools in Show Features.
2. Create Dental School Classes.
3. Set up Dental School Grading Scales.
4. Create Dental School Course Definitions.
5. Create Dental School Courses.
6. Set up Dental School Evaluations.
7. Add Dental School Instructors.
8. Add Dental School Students.
9. Assign permissions to instructors and students.

Dental Schools should have their IT team set up the server and workstations with Open Dental. Also see Dental School Servers.

Using Dental Schools

Once all features are set up and customized for the organization:

• Students can complete course requirements, including procedures done on patients.
• Students can keep their schedule and requirements organized using the Dental School Planner.
• Instructors can Fill out Student Evaluations.
• Instructors can generate Dental Student Reports as needed.
