Open Dental is currently being used in Australia by a few offices and it works well.
We generally provide email support
to Australia because of the time difference. However, Australian customers are always welcome to call us during our normal business hours. It is easiest to reach us in the morning
(Australian time) because it will be late afternoon on the U.S. west coast. For example, 10 am Tuesday in Sydney is 5 pm Monday in Oregon. In an emergency, you may be able to reach someone
as late as 3 pm Australian time. We are working to provide phone support 24/7, but it will take us a little time. We have an Australia phone number listed on our Contact page.
This is probably already done, but go to your Windows control panel and click Region and Language.
Make sure it's set to English (Australia). This will trigger features that we have included specifically for Australia, such as different names for some address fields and the additional information on statements as described below.
Provider name and number must show on statements. In the Provider Edit window, set the provider number in the National Provider ID (NPI) field. It will then show automatically on statements.

Their HICAPS module has extensive functionality that allows for HICAPS claims, reversals, quotations etc. EFTPOS and credit card functionality is also provided for. They also have a fully integrated SMS appointment reminder module plus numerous other Australian specific enhancements and functionality.
